The Aalok S. Modi Global Health Fund was established by Aalok’s friends at Duke University in January 2009.  Baldeep Pabla, Hari Shankar, and Imran Uraizee wanted to create a means for carrying on Aalok’s legacy at Duke.

These gentlemen opened a tax-deductible fund with Triangle Community Foundation. Their goal is to raise $50,000 by August 2009, which is the minimum amount they need to raise for the fund to be supported by Duke University.

The purpose of the fund is to provide $2,500 to one Duke University undergraduate student per year for use towards research.  We hope that the gesture will help young individuals realize their dreams and gain the ability to help others.  The organization is currently accepting donations in Aalok’s memory.
